Event Description

Germany’s SHI reform bill is here, and the changes could materially reshape how pharmaceutical companies think about launch strategy, price planning and long-term access in one of Europe’s most important markets.

Rather than revisiting AMNOG fundamentals, this webinar will focus on what the bill could mean in practice. The  reforms are not simply a loosening or tightening of AMNOG. They remove some of the rigid constraints introduced in 2022, while shifting cost-containment pressure towards rebates, price-volume controls and greater class-level contracting pressure.

We will cut through the complexity of the bill to share our perspectives on:

  • What is changing in Germany, including the additional manufacturer rebate, removal of the 2022 AMNOG guardrails and the combination therapy rebate, changes to price-volume rules, rebate contracting for patent-protected medicines,  and extension of the price moratorium.
  • Where the greatest commercial risks may arise, including net price uncertainty, volume-linked price erosion, budget-impact exposure and potential intra-class competition
  • What manufacturers should be considering now for price-volume negotiations, cash-flow planning and German net price forecasting
  • How the German reforms may connect to wider global pricing pressures, including external price referencing and Most Favoured Nation (MFN) considerations
